Philosophy

At Anger Consultants we believe that addiction is a loss of control of oneself

to a substance, person, or process, as evidenced by physical, mental, and

spiritual unmanageability. We believe that alcoholism, chemical dependency

and compulsive addictive behaviors are chronic, progressive and treatable

diseases. We believe that the dynamics common to alcohol and drug addiction

can extend to other compulsive addictive behaviors including eating disorders,

compulsive gambling, sexual addiction, and others. The pathway to recovery

is founded on the achievement of two primary goals: Movement towards a

change in lifestyle.

Mission

To assist individuals in recognizing and managing their emotions,

particularly their anger. We are here to teach acceptable ways of

expressing emotion. Anger Consultants teaches different techniques

for stress management and enhancing emotional intelligence. We

devote lessons on how to improve communication so that you may

become better listeners, as well as communicators. Our purpose is

to help you prevent angry situations in which you tend to "lose control."

The Mission of Anger Consultants to provide treatment and education to

the chemically dependent person, those with other compulsive addictive

behaviors, their families and significant others.

Treatment is provided through Residential Care, Family and Aftercare

Programs.

The goals of this treatment are to:

1. Assist each client in achieving abstinence and recovery from all

mood-altering drugs and / or compulsive addictive behaviors.

2. Educate and treat each client on the disease of addiction and/

or compulsive addictive behaviors within a safe, confidential,

and medically supervised therapeutic milieu.

3. Assist each client in improving the quality of his or her relation-

ships, careers, social, emotional physical and spiritual well being.

4. Assist family members and significant others in understanding

the disease of addiction and / or compulsive addictive behaviors

and the steps necessary to achieve ongoing recovery.

Our intensive outpatient program in conjunction with our

sober living facility, provides a stable, loving and caring

environment. Our clients are able to obtain the goal of

long term recovery. We believe in personally guiding each

and every client through each and every step in becoming

clean and sober. We also acknowledge and will strive to

help the client work on resolving any underlying core

issues, which may include anxiety, depression, bi-polar

disorder, etc. In that attempt, we will provide traditional

addiction treatment for adults and their families with an

emphasis on maintaining long-term recovery through

innovative methodologies and individualized treatment

planning.

At Anger Consultants Counseling Center, we understand

that high quality recovery services should not and cannot

be available only for the rich and famous. At many facilities,

the cost of treatment approaches that of a major surgery.

To that end, A Better Tomorrow will strive to maintain the

most cost effective yet comprehensive and successful

program possible in order to meet the needs of every income

strata.

Anger Consultants Counseling Center also realizes that those

who are battling addictions use up a disproportionate amount

of resources. They miss more working days and they are often

less productive than fellow workers. They place more claims

against workers compensation, unemployment, health and

life insurance benefits. Their addictions result in more

automobile accidents, emergency room visits, and 911-

emergency calls. Their actions exacerbate the problems of

overcrowded court dockets, probation systems, Parole

System, jails, prisons and juvenile detainment facilities.

Community Resources

Fees are based on a sliding scale for all classes.

Anger Management Classes - Teaches individuals to take

responsibility for their behavior and how to channel anger

appropriately. Different behavioral and cognitive techniques

are used to help the individual gain insight into his/her anger

trigger points. The course is broken down into anger

management, stress management, emotional intelligence,

and communication processes. Participants become more

aware of their own stress and anger signals. Subject matter

includes Understanding Anger, The Anger Ladder, Domestic

Violence Issues, Role of Substance Abuse in Anger, Rage in

our Society, Becoming the Victim, and Road Rage. Certified

through Anderson & Anderson of California, using the

renowned book, Gaining Control of Ourselves. Instructors

are master’s level professional counselors. The inability to

manage stress has a direct correlation to the ability to

handle extreme emotions that can lead to anger. Anger

Consultants Counseling Service provides anger manage-

ment classes for those struggling with stress and anger.

Domestic Violence Intervention Program and Women’s

Domestic Conflict Resolution Classes - Offers intervention

for individuals who have committed physical, psychological

or verbal abuse toward an intimate partner. This program

is state certified through the Coalition against Domestic

Violence of California. These classes help individuals

recognize power and control issues by showing how physical,

intimidation, use of children, verbal abuse, emotional

abuse, social isolation, use of religion, sexual abuse

and male privilege are factors leading to domestic

violence. Individuals are given guidelines for rebuilding the

trust that has been destroyed in the relationship. The

program is conducted as a series of 16 weekly sessions.

Transition in Parenting - A four-hour class designed for

divorcing parents of children under the age of eighteen.

Topics include, but are not limited to the following:

Effects of divorce on children

Steps to minimize effects of divorce on children

The effects of anger and depression on the divorce process

Reactions from family and friends

Classes are held by appointment from 9:00 a.m. to

session is $30.00. Executive Coaching $250.00 per

Hour.

FRAMEWORK FOR BREAKING BARRIERS - A program

cognitive skills training package, that can be utilized in any

setting. In a step by step process Gordon Graham skillfully

guides participants towards an understanding and acceptance

of four educational values. Having taken the course personally,

I have come to utilize many of the insights and skills that

Gordon Grahm has instilled in his programs.

Nurturing Father's Program - A ten-week, one-on-one

program to help men develop nurturance skills to better

interact with their children. Some of the topics include

improving communication skills, how to be a good role model,

parenting commitment, and fathering without violence or fear.

Creating Capable Families Class - A course designed to help

parents gain better understanding of child development, family

strengthening techniques and positive discipline in the home.

Building strong, capable families is one of the most essential

tasks of our communities today. This class helps parents

acquire skills to best nurture their children. Fees are charged.

Marriage Strengthening Classes - A course that teaches

the skills necessary to have a successful marriage.
